Aim of the initiative
Glimpse of Regulatory Workshop
Augment supply of skilled paramedics and promote quality through standardization of paramedic education / courses.
The project has two components:
Ø One time grant to government medical colleges for capacity building and faculty development to-
Ø Establishment of one NIPS at Delhi for PG courses with intake of 20 per courses and 8 RIPS, that would conduct 26 UG and 7 PG courses with total intake of 10,760 per year.
Expected outcomes
Components of the initiative
Initially the project will focus on establishment of the institutes. In view of highly technical nature of work, specific tasks would be allocated to external ‘subject experts ‘ identified by the PHFI Secretariat. Following initial four tasks will be carried out by PHFI Secretariat.

- Start Under Graduate(UG) paramedical courses and enhance intake capacity of students in existing UG courses in state government medical colleges;
- Start and increase intake in Post Graduate paramedical courses.
Ø Establishment of one NIPS at Delhi for PG courses with intake of 20 per courses and 8 RIPS, that would conduct 26 UG and 7 PG courses with total intake of 10,760 per year.
Expected outcomes
- Reduce imbalances in availability of Paramedics
- Introduce courses in New/Cutting edge disciplines
- Augment Capacity- Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation
- Provide quality assured services through in-service training, action research, onsite support etc.
